Know who pays for the trip Audit-ready evidence Screening in seconds

COX gives a travel agency a due diligence file for every customer who buys a trip: identity read from the document, sanctions and PEP screening with a certificate and a risk score. Each booking is recorded with its travellers, destination, dates, service, provider and payments, and prints as a sealed record the agency keeps by its own decision.

Where compliance hurts

  • A customer pays several expensive trips in cash and nobody asks where the money comes from
  • The person who pays is not the one who travels, and the agency never wrote down why
  • Bookings are cancelled and the refund is asked to another account or another person
  • Group and corporate trips hide who the travellers really are
  • The booking lives in the provider's system and the agency has no record of its own

Is a travel agency an obligated entity?

None of the laws COX has read names travel agencies as such among the obligated entities. The agency uses COX to know its customers and document its operations by its own decision, whatever its supervisor requires.

Venezuela

The organic law against organized crime and terrorism financing names the hotels, companies and tourism centres authorised to carry out currency exchange among the obligated entities, and the UNIF publishes a suspicious activity report (RAS) form for the tourism sector. An agency that exchanges currency should confirm its status with the UNIF.

Mexico

The LFPIORPI applies by activity, and its list of vulnerable activities does not name travel agencies: an agency is covered when it carries out one that is listed, such as issuing or selling traveller's cheques. COX does not offer the trip record in Mexico.

Panama, Guatemala, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Ecuador

None of the norms of these countries that COX has read names travel agencies. The trip record is voluntary: the agency keeps it by its own decision, and nothing is filed with any authority from COX.

COX records the trips by the agency's own decision and files nothing with any authority. Confirm your status with your supervisor.

Why they choose COX

The trip, recorded

Each operation records the destination, the dates, the service (air ticket, hotel, package or cruise), the provider and the booking reference.

Who pays and who travels

The customer is linked to their due diligence file, with its status and risk level, and each traveller is a party of the operation with a card of their own.

A sealed record of each booking

Every payment with its form and monetary instrument, virtual assets included. A confirmed operation no longer changes, and its PDF carries a SHA-256 seal and leaves a trace each time it is printed.

How It Works

Three steps from a new customer to a documented file

1

Collect

Send the customer a secure onboarding link. They upload their identity document, proof of address and source of funds from any device, and the platform reads the document for them.

  • Document reading and prefill
  • Selfie and liveness check
  • Beneficial owner declaration
2

Verify

Sanctions, PEP and restrictive lists are searched at once, adverse media on request, and the risk matrix scores the customer with the weights your policy sets.

  • Sanctions, PEP and watchlists
  • Risk matrix by country and activity
  • Enhanced due diligence when required
3

Document

Every search, decision and document stays in the file with its date and author. Print the due diligence report or the screening certificate when the regulator asks.

  • Immutable audit trail
  • Sealed PDF reports
  • Renewal reminders

Red flags the file has to document

  • Expensive trips paid in cash, or split into several payments by different people
  • A third party with no visible relation pays for other people's trips
  • A booking cancelled soon after payment, with the refund asked to another account
  • Frequent trips to the same destinations with no business or family reason
  • A customer who refuses to identify the travellers or brings documents that do not match

What the platform gives you

Everything a travel agency needs to know its customers, without a compliance department

Identity verification

Documents read automatically, selfie with liveness check and the data proposed for the officer to confirm.

List screening

Sanctions, PEP, restrictive and open-data lists, with a certificate that says which edition of each list was consulted.

Risk matrix

Country, activity, product, channel and PEP status weighted the way your manual says, with the result explained.

Adverse media

News about the customer ranked by how surely it names the same person, never a list of homonyms.

Due diligence files

Natural and legal persons, beneficial owners, related parties, documents with expiry dates and renewal alerts.

Reports for the regulator

Due diligence report, screening certificate and training records, each sealed with a verifiable fingerprint.

Frequently asked questions

None of the laws COX has read names travel agencies as such; in Venezuela the law names the tourism companies authorised to exchange currency. The table above says what was found in each country. Many agencies keep the files anyway, to know who they sell to; confirm your status with your supervisor.

The travellers as parties of the operation, the destination, the dates, the service (air ticket, hotel, package or cruise), the provider, the booking reference and the payments, each with its form of payment and monetary instrument.

No. The trip record is voluntary: COX keeps it and prints it as a sealed record, and the agency decides what to do with it. Nothing is filed with any authority from COX.

The customer who pays has a due diligence file and is screened. A traveller can be chosen from their own file, and screened, whenever your policy asks for it.

Per credit, with no monthly minimum: each screening or report consumes credits. Use the calculator to estimate the cost for your monthly sales.
